Young Entrepreneur’s Week is a week that highlights the future leaders in tomorrow’s business world. Every year, thousands of high school students throughout the United States will participate in this internationally recognized week. With the generous assistance of civic foundations, educational institutions and other organizations, Young Entrepreneur Institute has expanded past University School in 2021 and now has relationships with many other educational and non-profit organizations throughout the nation.
The YEI supports the important work done by established college programs such as the College Board and participates in relevant activities and events as well as promoting new ideas. As we enter into the summer of 2021, we will celebrate the success of our nation’s young adult entrepreneurs and recognize those who have made significant contributions to the economic well being of our nation. Young Entrepreneur Week is a week that inspires young entrepreneurs to dream big and give a shot at business success. Participating in events and activities on this week provides a great platform for young professionals to present their ideas to a wide variety of influential people. These successful young entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas to a wide audience and generate vital business contacts and connections as they are presented with prestigious university scholarships.
The United States Department of Education sponsors this international week to celebrate entrepreneurialism, build awareness of the entrepreneurial mindset and to encourage Young Entrepreneur around the world. Each year, hundreds of high school students and young adults from underrepresented or low-income backgrounds are selected to participate in this distinguished event. Young Entrepreneur Week programs draw from the diversity and uniqueness of the American entrepreneurial spirit and provide aspiring entrepreneurs with opportunities to present their ideas in a clear and polished fashion. Young Entrepreneur Week programs include a visit by the President of the United States, an historic entrepreneurial forum, the National Smart Startup Festival, and a business incubator where promising young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to explore business concepts in an exciting environment.
A young entrepreneur must be aggressive, versatile, and innovative in order to succeed. Unfortunately, many young entrepreneurs lack qualities such as these. However, there is no reason that aspiring entrepreneurs cannot become successful if they are properly guided by experienced leaders who understand the needs of young entrepreneurs. Young Entrepreneur Week gives these leaders the unique opportunity to interact with young entrepreneurs and help them develop a solid plan to achieve their goals. By utilizing their experience and knowledge, these mentors provide young entrepreneurs with tips for successfully launching a successful business, connect them with local support groups, and teach them how to cultivate their entrepreneurial character.
The President and other organizers of the Young Entrepreneur Week events take great care to celebrate the diversity among the participants. They recognize that successful young entrepreneurs come from all walks of life, come of age without experience in business, and pursue entrepreneurial ventures in different industries. Some of the more prominent speakers at this year’s event include: Brad Callen, co-founder of Earthlink; Allison Doyle, Executive Vice President of Advance Concepts in Austin, Texas; Rajesh Gopalakrishnan, a technology entrepreneur and advisor; and Lei Feng, an entrepreneur and advisor. These leaders understand that the entrepreneurial spirit needs a safe haven to grow and flourish. They have put forth the bold initiative to provide leadership training to the young entrepreneurs attending this year’s event.
Young Entrepreneur Week is also designed to inspire young entrepreneurs to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams. It provides training and resources to help young entrepreneurs succeed. The week features a series of activities, seminars, and workshops designed to help participants develop a sound business plan, become creative and marketable, and develop new skills. Young Entrepreneur Week activities range from the simple to the complex, including: live presentations, panel discussions, roundtables, inspiring case studies, hands-on activities, and mentor-apprentice programs. Entrepreneurs attending Young Entrepreneur Week experiences the opportunity to connect with successful grants and have the chance to apply their learning through hands-on activities and mentor-apprentice programs.
Young Entrepreneur Week participants can expect to use their iPad and gain valuable insight from the digital publishing experience, such as: how to publish eBooks for the eBook reader market, how to design a website, create a press release, distribute the book, create a promotional campaign, and much more. Caine is also featuring an iPad 2 video course, created by industry veteran Jim Caine. Seemingly impromptu, the video courses are designed to deliver a wealth of information in an easy-to-follow format. Jim Caine’s “Accelerate” course, and Seibel Coop’s “iphone app” are two of the courses being offered.
Young Entrepreneur Week events offer entrepreneurs the chance to network, interact, and exchange ideas.
