As far as the main features and specifications go, the Kuu laptop has everything you would expect from a laptop. There is a beautiful 15.6-inch display for surfing the net easily, along with the standard widescreen viewing option. There is also a large keyboard which will allow you to type emails and web pages easily. On the inside, you will find a full-size keyboard for input, a 1GB beefy processor, and a spacious 8GB RAM. There is also a high-speed Wireless modem available for your wireless connection needs.
The biggest highlight of the Kuu laptop is its durability. The laptop is constructed out of high-grade, heavy-duty aluminum metal, and it’s covered with a non-slip rubberized back cover. One of the best features of the laptop is that there are two different types of hard drives available. You can get a regular hard drive (written by the computer user, see my review), or you can purchase an external ( USB type-C ) hard drive that offers twice the storage space.
The other highlight of the Kuu laptop is the incredible display quality. My friend and I tested it out at the local retail store before we bought it. While he was standing in line to purchase his laptop, I went to try it out myself. My laptop had an amazing screen, the resolution was crisp, and the colors were extremely vivid. We were both impressed!
When you compare laptops based on price, you might not like the idea of buying a kuu laptop. However, the fact is that these kinds of laptops aren’t very common. The main reason why they aren’t as prevalent is because the average person doesn’t need one, and it would take up too much room.
However, that all changed when the iPAQ technology was introduced. iPAQ technology allows for many new features to be incorporated into current laptops. Because many laptop brands don’t use the standard AVR encoding/ decoding methods anymore, standard AVR encoding/ decoding isn’t good enough. So when manufacturers start using iPAQ technology, standard AVR encoding methods can no longer be used, and the laptop becomes truly portable.
The keyboard on the Kuu laptop had some serious issues though. The trackball was difficult to use and hard to move around. Plus, the keys on the laptop were not responsive at all. I couldn’t get any sort of response from the trackball, and the laptop had a horrible portability issues because it was so small and light. I also had trouble reaching the back of the Kuu laptop in order to use the mouse. In fact, the keyboard had such a bad portability issue that I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who needs a full-sized laptop with a keyboard.
Fortunately, all of those issues are now history. I had previously owned a Logitech Krome computer that was so hard to use and had so many problems. It took me forever to get used to it and once I did, the only thing that really worked well was the touchpad. With the Kuu, I am able to use the touchpad just like I do with my touch-screen laptop. Plus, the size and weight of the Kuu makes it easy to carry around. I also like the backlit keyboard that comes with the machine.
