There are many websites and magazines that are dedicated to football. There is a wide variety of blogs that talk about the different teams and players as well. There are some that are dedicated purely to news and reviews of the sport. These sites can be a real treasure trove for football fans who want to follow the team or players closely. I have found a few sites that I consider to be among the top sites for football online.
The Sporting Football Blog is owned by the well know Professor Abu Garcia. He is a very respected figure in the football world as he writes an excellent weekly column for ESPN. Most of his writing is about his own passion for football, but he does talk about topics that relate to the sport as a whole. Best Football Blogs is based out of Spain, so you can expect to read content that reflects this.
His football blog starts off every week with a piece talking about the weekend’s schedule and then includes some information from the previous week. If you are looking for a site that has the latest news relating directly to football, this is definitely one to consider. The site also features some great recipes, which are sent to your email on a daily basis. This is where I found one of my best finds ever, squash recipes sent to your email on a daily basis!
Another football blog I found with a pretty impressive layout and fantastic football blog name ideas is Squawka. This blog is run by two English guys who live in Manchester. They really know their football, and you can tell by the language they speak (which is very easy to understand). The weekly update is done by Steve Simmons while Jamesretti is the one that handles the updates on the weekends.
Jamesretti’s football blog has some amazing photos and is run alongside his own blog which is the better of the two. This is one football blog that I recommend reading because the football blogs within football talk a lot more to the point of view than say a lot of the others I’ve mentioned above. They also tend to contain a lot more relevant information from the experts around the sport. You may not agree with them on certain subjects but it’s good to get their point of view from time to time.
The last football blog names that I would like to mention are The Metrocosmics and Kickin Coyote. Both these sites are run by two football journalists that cover the UK and are well worth checking out. Metrocosmics is one place where you will find all sorts of information about local football clubs in the region you live in, including match reports and photos from each game. For a more American football blog, you can check out Kickin Coyote, which is run by an ex-NFL kicker. It’s more informative and less football-related in nature, but it’s worth a look.
That’s it for now, I hope I haven’t made too many football blog name ideas out of the ones I already mentioned. As I said before, making a football blog can be very different from creating any other type of blog. The most important thing to do is to pick a domain name. Once you have picked your domain name to keep in mind that your web host might also provide free domain registration, so why not use that? You’ll save yourself some money that way.
After picking a domain name to keep in mind your main topic. Whether your main topic is about football or another sports team, it’s important that you choose a topic that is relevant to that sports team, or at least the fans that follow that sports team. If you’re writing about something that doesn’t belong to a sports group or to a group that isn’t interested in sports then don’t bother with it. If you want to make a lot of money as a football blog then you need to write about news about the football league or the latest NFL players. You can find news on the web about lots of sports teams and players at blogs such as my blog on Sports Insights.
